No mother should be without a decent stash of muslin squares. These simple coarsely woven cloths have numerous uses. You can drape these cloths over your shoulder as a burp cloth, use as an emergency bib, as a light summer blanket, a new-born nappy using a nippa fastener. The squares can be used as a bath towel and change mat. Hook them over the front of your pram as a sun screen. Some mothers find the squares a useful comfort blanket or swaddle wrap.
